Community Engagement & Giving Back

HS provides pro bono legal advisory services to Murals for Good, a nonprofit organization involved in the Downtown Chinatown Revitalization Program. The firm assists on contract review, compliance, and reimbursement processes with New York State, helping the organization advance its mission of community-based public art and neighborhood revitalization.

HS assisted family members and community leaders in establishing the Hendricks-Ellison Scholarship Fund, Inc. and securing 501(c)(3) status following the tragic death of Brandon Hendricks-Ellison. The firm’s work enabled the creation of a lasting educational legacy, providing scholarship opportunities and honoring Brandon’s life through community investment.

HS helped The League for Fastpitch Softball obtain nonprofit status, allowing the organization to raise funds and expand programming for high-school girls pursuing athletic and academic success. The firm’s assistance enabled the League to focus on its mission of mentorship, skill development, and access to collegiate opportunities.

HS maintains a working relationship with One Hundred Black Men of New York, a community service organization dedicated to mentoring, education, economic empowerment, and leadership development. Through this relationship, the firm supports initiatives aimed at expanding opportunity and fostering long-term success for youth and underserved communities throughout New York City.

HS partner Yonaton Aronoff has served on the board of Animal Care Centers of New York since 2011, supporting the organization’s mission to help New Yorkers adopt, care for, and retain pets. Through board service and advocacy, the firm contributes to animal welfare initiatives that benefit individuals and families across the city.

HS supports US War Dogs through charitable giving and partnerships, including participation in programs that provide care and resources for military working dogs during and after their service.
